The body of the paper should
organize the topic in a meaningful way and critically review the current
empirical knowledge base relevant to your topic.

A conclusion section should
include a discussion of practice/policy implications/recommendations and
future research directions.

Reference page should list
at least 10 primary empirical sources.

Follow APA Publication
Manual organization and style guidelines.
Points will be deducted for format violations and grammatical
problems.

of empirical studies summarize original research. Many journal articles are reports of
empirical studies. In order to learn how
to review the literature, it is important to be able to read and understand
reports of empirical studies. Empirical articles have the following
sections: abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, and
references.

Drinking alcohol during pregnancy is
harmful to the fetus because it can cause mental retardation, low
birth weight, learning disability, and long-term consequences. The
affects of drinking alcohol while pregnant can lead to long term
detrimental problems with infants. Even though Alcohol is integral
part of daily life. Alcohol abuse causes a myriad of serious problems
FAS children have trouble with balance, coordination, learning, and
memory skills. Others are mentally retarded varying from educable to
severe retardation. Learning disabilities may show up in school.
Hyperactivity, short attention span, and other behavioral problems
are common. Studies have shown that an average of one to two drinks
daily do decrease birth weight and growth size. The incidence of FAS
is approximately one to three per 1,000 live births.
