Several resources will be vital for implementing the change project plan on how effective organizational leadership strategies can improve nurse retention related to burnout. After discussing with my preceptor, I came up with the following four resources to help implement the change proposal plan. The four resources essential for use include the availability of monetary funds, a human resource such as employing more nurses, leadership involvement and support programs.

The first resource is the availability of monetary funds in an organization. Funds play a significant role in the reduction of nurses’ burnout and increasing nursing retention. For instance, the organization can allocate a small section of the funds to train leaders to recognize and address burnout (de Oliveira et al., 2019). During nursing training, leaders are taught about warning signs of burnout in nurses. Therefore, when leaders recognize these signs, they will be able to support their staff appropriately.

Secondly, human resource availability can be achieved by employing more nurses in an organization (Dall’Ora, Ball, Reinius & Griffiths, 2020). Nurse burnout can be attributed to high nurse-to-patient ratios. Having more nurses in an organization will help in improving nurse to patient ratio. As such, the act of reducing the nurse-to-patient ratio will need additional more nurses in an organization. This will lessen the stress that comes with heavy workloads which leads to burnout.

Leadership involvement is another resource. Healthcare administrators must acknowledge burnout as a systemic problem and promote a culture of self-care among their employees, starting from the top down. To help accomplish this, positions like chief wellness officer. If leadership is inadequate, however, organizations must be willing to make changes. (Reith, 2018).

Support programs will be another resource needed. Nursing is an intrinsically stressful field, and the organization can help the nurses cope with any form of stress emanating from work-related activities (Jones, 2019).

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
