There are many reasons why workplace violence and aggression can lower nurses’ performance in psychiatric healthcare institutions. Some of the key reasons include: -Feeling unsafe or vulnerable in the workplace can lead to nurses becoming anxious and stressed, which can then affect their ability to focus on their work. Constant exposure to violent or aggressive behavior can take a toll on nurses’ mental health, leading to exhaustion, burnout, and even post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
