One of the things a student nurse can learn from a culturally sensitive nurse is the appropriate strategies to use. First, it is important to practice cultural humility which entails focusing on the implementation of humility and interpersonal characteristics of self-reflection, collaboration and lifelong learning (Turkson-Ocran et al., 2022). Therefore, a nurse must be culturally competent by being knowledgeable of the patient’s culture. Second, cultural sensitivity also involves conscientious practice which involves professional and individual conscience and integrity. Lastly, they must establish trust with patients.
