For your final essay exam, you will research and discuss possible causes of action and defenses regarding an incident that occurred at the San Francisco Zoo on Christmas Day 2007. As reported in several articles, a female Siberian tiger was killed after fatally mauling a man and seriusly injuring 2 of his friends at the San Francisco Zoo on Christmas Day 2007.

The tiger killed 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr. and injured his friends, brothers Paul and Kulbir Dhaliwal, and appeared to have escaped from her pen. The enclosure wall, which was lower than federal safety standards.

The AZA inspected the enclosure, built in 1940, 33 years before the incident as part of its regular accreditation program and did not note the wall as a deficiency in its report.

There are conflicting reports regarding whether Paul was intoxicated at the time and yelled and waved at the tiger.

You must proofread your paper. Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page.
