            Stakeholders are important bodies that play critical roles in the operations of the organizations or those impacted by the deeds of the healthcare organization. In the healthcare industry, stakeholders also characterize companies, individuals, or other bodies with vested interests in healthcare decisions that guide clinical practice (Petkovic et al., 2020). Stakeholders are divided into internal and external stakeholders and they are instrumental in the implementation of evidence-based projects. In healthcare settings, internal stakeholders are mostly found within the healthcare facility and they entail various categories of workers such as leadership, management, clinicians, and other people serving clinical or non-clinical duties. Internal stakeholders play a critical role in the evidence-based project implementation including the provision of suitable knowledge, skills, and leadership to facilitate the implementation of the proposed change project.

            Nursing professionals are the key healthcare professionals and stakeholders and are better placed in translating evidence into clinical practice while attending to patients.  They work with a diverse team of healthcare professionals such as physicians, pharmacists, and other clinicians who are directly involved in healthcare provision. The leadership and management of the organization also play a vital role in providing appropriate leadership and structures that are needed to support the assumption of the suggested change. As such, the support of the management of the organization is important in ensuring that the proposed change project is successfully implemented.

            External stakeholders in the healthcare system include suppliers, patients, research organizations, the government, and financial institutions such as insurance providers. They play an instrumental role in availing the required resources for the implementation of projects and the development of policies to deal with patient falls (Derakhshan et al., 2019). For instance, patients are the final consumers of healthcare services and their contribution to the healthcare industry is important in fostering the successful execution of the evidence-based project. Also, the government enables healthcare infrastructure through the provision of resources and formulation of plans to ensure the whole population have access to quality and cost-effective care and also provide training to healthcare providers. Other potential external stakeholders include professional organizations, community leaders, religious leaders, and opinion leaders both inside and outside the healthcare field, who play a significant role in influencing the perceptions and opinions of the local communities to adopt the proposed changes for the betterment of the larger society.

            Stakeholders’ support can be secured by using effective stakeholder engagement and communication to create awareness about the proposed project. This can be achieved through various strategies including nursing conferences, holding seminars, journal debates, and other platforms that can foster effective engagements.  Healthcare settings also need to fulfill the needs of stakeholders and manage their hopes. It is imperative to inform the stakeholders of the benefits they should expect from the proposed project and what they need to do (Pereno & Eriksson, 2020). It implies that stakeholders need to be shown how they benefit and they provide required support in anticipation of the benefits. Moreover, stakeholders’ support can be secured through media and community coalitions.
