The healthcare industry is constantly evolving and adapting to new technologies and practices. In the past three years, the industry has seen significant changes in care delivery models and processes, with one of the most impactful being the widespread adoption of telehealth services. From the micro level of individual patient care to the meso level of healthcare facilities and providers, and all the way up to the macro level of the entire healthcare system, telehealth has transformed the way healthcare is delivered (Dash, 2020). Patients are now able to access healthcare from the comfort of their own homes, providers can offer more efficient and personalized care, and the healthcare system as a whole is becoming more accessible and cost-effective.
At the micro level, telehealth has allowed doctors to give online consultations, expanding healthcare access to those who may not have it otherwise. Patients with chronic diseases, those with mobility challenges, or those who live in remote locations may now get great treatment without having to leave the comfort of their own homes (Ford et al., 2020). As a result of fewer in-person visits, infectious illnesses have been contained in part because to changes brought about by telehealth.
Telehealth has altered healthcare delivery at the meso level. In order to provide telehealth services, providers have had to spend money on things like secure communication systems and remote monitoring equipment (Chunara et al., 2021). To further accommodate telehealth services, healthcare institutions have had to alter existing policies and processes, such as creating guidelines for virtual consultations, managing patient data privacy and security, and guaranteeing regulatory compliance.

The advent of telehealth has had far-reaching effects on the medical field at the macro-level. Policies and regulations at all levels of government had to be updated, and insurance companies’ coverage of telehealth services modified, before the practice could become widely available. With the advent of telehealth, new service models have emerged that provide patients with immediate medical attention without requiring them to go to a clinic (Chuo et al., 2020).
In conclusion, the last three years have seen a dramatic shift in the healthcare delivery paradigm brought about by the widespread implementation of telehealth services, which has had an effect at the micro, meso, and macro levels. Because of telehealth, more people are able to get the medical attention they need, healthcare institutions can now function differently, and the whole healthcare sector has been affected.
