Describe ways each organization will communicate with leadership to ensure alignment of organizational goals and gain buy-in from staff to achieve compliance with the standards and requirements issued by regulatory and accreditation bodies.

1. Provide a name of or link to a specific health care organization. Summarize the key products or services provided by the organization and identify the primary customers it serves.

Organization Overview

The Mayo Clinic is a nonprofit organization, that serves many different specialties and departments such as a minority health and wellness programs, cancer preventions, transplants, brain ageing such as Alzheimer’s and memory disorders, community outreach programs and research. The Mayo Clinic services all patients no matter their race, sexual orientations, gender identity, disability status, military service, faith or culture.

2. Outline the overall content of the major regulations, accreditation requirements, and other standards that affect the organization. Provide the title, section, parts, or subparts, or the numbering system, etc. of the specific regulations or accreditation requirements. Responses should be at least 100 words.

Organization Regulations, Accreditation, and Standards

The Mayo Clinic follows strict federal and state regulations that consist of, Notice of Privacy Practices, which informs patients of their rights regarding their medical information, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) that will protect private medical information from being divulge without the patient’s consent. The Equal Employment Opportunity & Affirmative Action (EEOC), and the Joint Commission. All are utilized in combination that allows the Mayo Clinic along with other entities to stay in compliance with the state, and federal regulatory guidelines and accreditations.

Effects on Risk Management

By abiding by federal and state regulation Risk management has advantages and some disadvantages. The advantages are to maintain the organization economic stability, increase the organizations transparency and protect the organization against fraud and /or illegal and unfair practices.

4. Identify specific components of performance-management systems—policies and procedures, self-audits, benchmarking, complaint management, corrective or preventive action, education and training, communication, and other mechanisms—to be used by the organization. Responses should be at least 100 words.

Organizational Performance Management Systems

Organizations should utilize five main components. Management involvement is one of the most important functions that an organization can ensure that their organization is a success, setting the tone with employees, development, continual coaching and feedback, and consistent ongoing conversations.
